Good work, for good causes

At 438 we help organisations communicate clearly, connect with the right people and achieve meaningful results. And it’s especially rewarding when that work supports charities and causes we believe in.

These projects aren’t always the loudest or the flashiest, but they’re the ones that matter most to us. Thoughtful work that’s useful, inclusive and designed to support the people it’s there for.

Here’s just a few projects we’re proud of…

Grow Breastfeeding

Some projects just go beyond the brief and for us, the Grow Breastfeeding campaign for Tameside Council was one of those rare ones. As well as being a topic that meant a lot to several of the team, it was a real opportunity to create awareness, connection and support for every single breastfeeding victory, no matter how big or small.

Kenora Charitable Foundation

Last year, we got the chance to work with the incredible team at Kenora, a charitable foundation which works to ensure that individuals under the age of 25 have access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and physically.

We developed a new identity for the foundation, beginning with a logo and a distinctive colour palette, and created a website and social media presence as well as a full communication toolkit to set them apart.

The Joshua Tree

We have been supporting The Joshua Tree for the last 2 years and in 2025 we worked to refresh their brand, reflecting the warmth, care, and hope at the heart of everything they do to support families affected by childhood cancers. We even closed the office early to hand over a cheque for £3,000 raised by some of the team who completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in June last year.

Our Room

We carried out a rebrand for Our Room, a unique arts and health charity based in Manchester, supporting marginalised people engaged in sex work or at risk of exploitation.

Knutsford Pride

Last summer, we helped bring to life Knutsford’s first-ever Pride event, right on our doorstep. The brief was to create a bold and inclusive identity for the event, which could grow with the event for years to come. It was a brilliant opportunity for the studio to get properly creative, and a special chance to support our hometown too.

Britain’s Best Breakfast

We launched ‘Britain’s Best Breakfast’ with Carers Trust, urging the UK to wake up to the struggles of unpaid carers by holding fundraising mornings.

Football Shirt Friday

We brought Isuzu and Cancer Research together to support the Bobby Moore Fund, encouraging people to wear their team colours and donate for a great cause. It was an opportunity to show our own team colours too!

Knutsford Town Council

As a local business, we played a vital role in putting our town on the map by creating a vibrant new identity and event support for Knutsford Town Council.

Why this work matters right now

Through the economic turbulence of recent years, third sector organisations have never been more in need of support from businesses and volunteers. Around 70% of small and mid-sized charities are actively looking for marketing support, yet fewer than half manage to find it. Many are doing vital work on tight budgets, with limited time or resources to focus on strategy, content or brand building.

That’s where experienced support can make a real difference.

Marketing that works (and proves it)

Charity marketing performs. On average, campaigns deliver more measurable outcomes than commercial equivalents. When the message is clear and the mission is genuine, people respond, attention increases, engagement improves and results follow.

For us, these projects also strengthen our team and our ties to the communities we work in. Some of our longest-standing relationships began with a simple offer to help and a shared belief that thoughtful creativity can move things forward.

It’s good honest work we really value, done well, with purpose behind it.

And we’ll happily keep doing more of it!
